The Sr.
Security Engineer will work with a team of managed services analysts and engineers to deliver excellent support and management of our customers' environments.
Our managed services security practice focuses on delivering comprehensive security solutions and ongoing management of risk to our customers.
This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on but can also think strategically about designing solutions and analyzing risk.
This role is heavily customer-facing and requires excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing the highest quality customer service.
ResponsibilitiesLeadership:
Assist with the design and implementation of Security tools, (SIEM, IDS/IPS, Behavioral Analysis, XDR)Mentor team members and provide training on Security technologies and threat analysisDesign and document processes, procedures, and reporting to ensure our customer environments are operating efficiently and in line with best practicesLead and participate in Security related projects and customer onboardingIdentify and become proficient at emerging technologies in the security spaceParticipate in interviewing future team membersOperations:
Collaborate across teams to ensure compliance with cybersecurity policiesScope and implement effective monitoring of customer's security environmentsTroubleshoot, remediate, and perform root cause analysis on security incidentsDocument and perform patching and upgrades on security infrastructureProvide on-call support for off-hours incidents and patchingProvide meaningful updates to customers and accurately maintain Incident, request, problem, and change ticketsCreate security reports with proactive findings and recommendations for improvementPerform periodic security reviews, and publish findings for team awarenessPerform configuration changes within security products as neededOther responsibilities as requestedEducation and TrainingBS or BA with a technical concentration.
Relevant certifications strongly preferred:
CISSPCCNA/CCNP/CCIE Security or Routing & SwitchAlienVault AVSE/ACSECertified Ethical Hacker (CEH/ECSA/LPT)Security+ITIL v4 FoundationExperience10
years in a technical field5
years focused on securityExperience with engineering standards, design, and maintenance best practices for enterprise networksExperience implementing security policies, and using data to measure successful implementation and complianceExperience providing support and remediation for critical security breachesExperience in 24x7x365 Managed Services or SaaS organization preferredExperience using ITSM and Monitoring toolsets.
SkillsAbility to configure and support a wide range of security tools including IDS/IPS, SIEM, and Endpoint solutionsIn-depth knowledge of LogRhythm AlienVault is strongly preferredComfortable working with both Linux and Windows-based systemsStrong understanding of enterprise network technologiesStrong understanding of the current security threat landscapeAbility to present findings and recommendations to customersAbility to articulate technical information to non-technical audiencesAbility to manage projects efficiently from scoping through completionAbility to develop and implement processes and procedures
