Senior Technical Writer with Security Clearance
DCS Corp has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Technical Writer to support the HBB/ Kessel Run (KR) Division! Essential Job Functions:
In this role you will prepare original papers, articles, or reports in scientific, technical, or professional fields based on research, interviews with experts and program officials, and sometimes observation of or participation in tests and experimentsDuties include, but not limited to:
o Obtaining, analyzing, and selecting the pertinent information.o Determining the most logical and effective sequence of the narrative.o Determining the overall length and tone based on the objectives, the medium, and the audienceo Writing the material.o Consulting on or selecting illustrative material.o Preparing the material for publication.o Write technical direction on product announcements, marketing brochures, advertisements, and marketing specifications.o Meet with customer representatives, vendors, system engineers, and program managers to establish technical specifications.o Study drawings, specifications, mockups, and product samples.o Create user documentation for a variety of material, including how-to guides and instruction manual.o Prepare charts, graphs, or forms to go along with rough drafts.o Ensure document contents follow required formats.o Write clear and concise policies and procedures.o Ensure consistency of wording among multiple documents.o Create table of contents and cite sources.o Submit copies to managers for feedback.o Maintain electronic library or all signed documents and final presentations.o Provide updates and different editions as necessaryAround 25% travel, and will be mostly once per quarter CONUSRequired Skills:
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.SCitizenship is requiredA High School Diploma plus 8 years of experience, 4 of which must be in the DoDAn adjudicated DoD Secret Security clearance on the First Day of employmentTechnical writing experience within the DoD relative to information and/or business systems environmentExcellent writing skills and strong command of the English language, including grammarStrong attention to detailAbility to work well with other organizations and personnel with disparate backgroundsStrong organizational skills and ability to multi-taskStrong technical, analytical and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and with a team.
