Job Description:
This team is searching for a software developer with experience in defining and implementing financial software. The candidate should be fluent in Java and Java Swing UI technologies and have strong user interface development experience. Additional skills in SQL and scripting languages like Perl are also required.
The candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to release and support these applications within a fast paced, customer-oriented environment.
The chosen candidate will join a development team that designs, builds and supports a global real-time system, distributed production environment with 24 x 5 requirements. The system manages ETFs and Indices, publishing real time calculations to financial markets. The candidate will be responsible for the design, definition and implementation of this product. The candidate should be detail-oriented, embrace development best practices, and communicate clearly and effectively with peers, QA team, users, project management, and supervisors.
The working environment is fast-paced, high demand, and closely integrated with business users. The candidate should be a self-motivated quick learner willing to pick up any skills the job calls for. We are looking for enthusiastic, flexible team players.
Experience and Skills:
Job Specifications: Technical
Fluent in Java and Java Swing technologies
Experience with HA, DR and fault tolerant designs.
Experience working in production environments.
Experience with relational databases Sybase, MySQL or Oracle
Development experience with scripting languages like Perl and Unix shells.
Understanding and dedication to software development ?best practices?
Background in user interface design is a plus.
Though not required, a candidate with experience in Visual Basic or Excel Macros is a plus.

Basic knowledge of one or more Equities, Fixed Income, Asset Back Securities and Derivatives asset classes a plus
