The Engineering and Technology Acquisition Support Services (ETASS) contract provides a broad range of engineering support to the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center's (AFLCMC's) programs located at Hanscom AFB and their geographically separated units.
Jacobs Technology is looking for a Senior IT Systems Engineer, specializing in large-scale Data Center Virtualization, Data Discovery Integration, Configuration Management (CM), and Cloud implementation, to support projects at Hanscom Air Force Base, MA. This candidate will be responsible for supporting the USAF with a multi-site data center consolidation and implementation into a USAF Private Cloud. The Data Centers are VMware based with core service migration of applications, including Physical to Virtual and Virtual to Virtual. Virtualized Applications include Microsoft Exchange 2010, Outlook Web Mail, SharePoint 2010 and other USAF applications, including a variety of data discovery and configuration management tools. The ideal candidate will have experience with any of the following: Continuity of Operations (COOP), Modular Data Center Design, Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM), EMC ProSphere: Cloud storage management software, NetApp OnCommand Management Software and Management Integration Tools, VCE Vblock series, FC, FCoE, network device and application discovery and CM tools, and Ethernet Converged Infrastructure.
The candidate will be responsible for writing technical requirements based on user requirements, evaluating vendor proposals for technically acceptable architectures, data center migration and data discovery implementation strategies while providing technical advice and quality assurance assistance to the government through source selection and installation. The candidate must be able to effectively review and evaluate vendor configuration management, testing, and training plans for technical acceptability for proposals. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provide detailed knowledge of systems engineering in support of IT system definition, integration and maintenance.
Work as part of a team or independently, using keen attention to detail to solve problems.
Perform functional analysis, detailed network trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate operational requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Apply industry best practices in IT Security, Systems Engineering, and Integration and Testing.
Work with system integrators on the design and use case development and execution and contractor technical product reviews.
Develop and ensure that all functional requirements of the system have been successfully acquired, validated and tested.
Provide support for generation, review, approval, and implementation of modification proposals and an automated Change Management system.
Provide support for the development of acquisition strategies, Performance Work Statements, and Requests for Proposal (RFPs).
Prepare technical data item requirements for the development of contract data item requirements lists.
Provide a variety of general system engineering tasks including review of integration test plans, procedures and data; supports special studies to define alternative interface/integration approaches; reviews Technical Orders, TCTOs, and other official technical documentation.
Coordinate project activities with contractors, other program office organizations, MAJCOMs, supporting agencies, and other military services.
Required Skills:
The successful candidate will possess a demonstrated background working on progressively more challenging projects with proficiencies in the following areas:
Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS), Cisco Nexus Switches and Unified Fabric.
Experience with cloud service providers such as Rackspace, Verizon/Terremark , Amazon Web Services, etc.
Experience with Data Center Hosting such as CenturyLink/Savvis, Level 3 and Global Crossing
Knowledge of storage area networks (SAN) (including EMC VNX series, Unisphere and EMC ProSphere Management Suite/NetApp FAS and Data ONTAP 8).
Cisco/HP/Dell Blade server technologies in a converged network environment.
Experience with VMware ESX virtualization products and solutions.
Experience with MS SCCM, SCOM, BMC ADDM, IBM TADDM & Clearcase or similar discovery and CM applications.
Windows Server 2008/2012. Active Directory within a large multi-site enterprise.
MS Exchange/SharePoint 2010/2013
Blackberry Enterprise Server and Good for Enterprise
Experience with large scale IT/data center migration systems life cycle, including plans, designs, deployment, testing, execution, and sustainment/OEM warranty service.
At least one of the following Industry Certified Computing Certifications: Cisco Data Center Unified Computing Design Specialist, NetApp Certified Data Management Administrator (NCDA), VMware Data Center Virtualization/Cloud, EMC Cloud Infrastructure and Services (EMCCIS) or Information Storage and Management (EMCISA), Microsoft MCSE Solutions Expert / MCSA Solutions Associate.
DESIRED SKILLS:
Experience with large (500k
users) network performance and scaling issues and solutions are a plus.
Experience with DoD NIPR and SIPR network boundaries are a plus.
Experience working in DoD/USAF Acquisition Program Offices.
Experience with rapid cyber acquisition process is a key discriminator.
Experience with DIACAP and DoD 8500.1 certifications are a plus.
EDUCATION:
BS degree and 10 years of experience; MS degree and 8 years of experience; or Ph.D. and 4 years of experience required.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen and possess the ability to acquire a U.S. Security Clearance.
This position may require travel of up to one week per month.
Work may involve sitting for extended periods. May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of manufacturing and military sites or facilities where necessary.
Generally an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.), and/or other industry-specific equipment.
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.
