Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc. Develop software and tools in support of design, infrastructure and technology platforms, including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases and Internet-related tools. Set operational specifications and formulate and analyze software requirements. As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs. Responsible for Socket/Network programming using the TCP/IP protocol suite in a Linux based environment. Design and develop software to provide PSTN backup of Voice over IP phone calls. Modify existing software and correct software defects to customer satisfaction. Support various signaling, web and/or security protocols as required.
Employer will accept Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field and 3 years of work experience in job offered or 3 years of work experience in a Software Developer -related occupation. Education or experience must include:
1. Designing and developing Embedded Communications software;
2. Designing and developing software for network applications in C/C++/JAVA/LUA;
3. Developing functional and design specifications on new software development features, including creating of the formal Engineering Functional Specification document based on the requirements gathered from Product Management and conducting design review meetings with other members of the team to gather feedback;
4. Knowledge of IP based network and security protocols; and
5. Experience with debugging tools, including GDB.
Experience may be gained concurrently.
