Budget Technician

Provides budgetary assistance to all levels of the organization by compiling, consolidating, and organizing budget estimates; Establishes and maintains ledgers for the funding of the station's appropriations, allotments, and sub-allotments.; Verifies funds received/withdrawn by Transfer of Disbursing Authority (TDA), and transfers funds into and out of appropriate fund and fund control point(s); Establishes and maintains ledgers for the funding of the station's appropriations, allotments, and sub-allotments; Gathers, organizes, and explores data in such a manner that results may be used by management for detection of trends, internal audits and evaluation; Advises managers and their staff on alternate means of obtaining and/or using funds; and Assists Control Point Officials/Clerks in interpreting running balances regarding budget transactions. Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS 07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS 06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note:

Specialized
Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS 06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
providing budgetary assistance to an organization by compiling, consolidating, and organizing budget estimates; establishing and maintaining ledgers for the funding of the appropriations, allotments, and sub-allotments; verifying funds received/withdrawn; and assisting respective staff in interpreting running balances regarding budget transactions. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
