The major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Performs work involved with repairing, overhauling, modifying, testing, and installing a variety of locking devices; Manufacture and duplication of keys and the keying and combination of locking mechanisms; Disassembles repairs, cleans and reassembles, and reinstalls a large variety of locking devices; Designs and installs master key systems; Designs and installs locks and integrated locking systems; Troubleshoots malfunctioning components; Examines locks for evidence of tampering; Fabricates parts to repair locks no longer in production; Makes operational tests to assure devices function properly; and Performs other duties as assigned. Work assignments require standing, stooping, bending, kneeling for prolonged periods as well as working in cramped and awkward positions. You are required to lift items weighing up to approximately 50 pounds. Work is normally performed in a well-lighted, heated and ventilated area. Occasionally work is done outside in inclement weather or in areas that are drafty and poorly lighted. You may be exposed to the possibility of cuts, bruises, scrapes, and serious burns. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualifications. For this position, the job element method is used to match what you, the applicant, can do against what the work calls for. Your knowledge, skills and abilities will be compared to the knowledge, skills and abilities (called job elements) needed for success. Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element (WG-2 and higher only; screen-outs are not applicable to WG-1). A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
