Mental Health Service Line Manager (Physician)
responsible for setting priorities for staff, services, education, research, business management, supplies, equipment, construction, and funding; works closely with Medical Center Director, Chief of Staff, Fiscal Service and Resource Board to operate in a fiscally responsible manner; achieves VA objectives in quality of services and programs across the service line, as evaluated by internal indicators, regulatory and accreditation reviews, and patient satisfaction data; serves as a liaison for the Service Line to internal and external stakeholders; recommends, defines, and manages procurement of contractual non-VA providers for services; participates in identifying and recommending candidates for selection, reassignment or promotions into management positions within the programs managed by MHSL; has supervisory responsibility for the MHSL and is ultimately responsible for all activities of staff of the Mental Health Service Line including all professional, management, administrative aspects of the MHSL; and plans and oversees completion of personal research programs, designed to provide information regarding program planning and relevant treatment approaches. Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Completion of residency training, or its equivalent, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. The work is mostly sedentary; however, some walking and standing is required. Work is performed in an office setting and various areas throughout the hospital.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
